the TARDIS wasn't the best at getting you to places that you actually wanted to go. she sometimes had a fit and sent you off somewhere that you really didn't want to go, but apparently needed to go. after the deafening VWORP VWORP VWORP sound of the blue box had ended and it was safe to say that he had landed, the doctor pulled open the TARDIS doors and popped out, spinning in a circle to see his surroundings with a rather curious look on his face before glancing at the TARDIS and shaking his head once. "where have you brought me this time?" he said rather loudly to himself. he pulled his sonic screwdriver out of his jacket pocket and scanned the area before sliding it open and glancing at the readouts. "america? the south? rather deep south, apparently." he said, sniffing the air and wincing slightly. "do people even live around here? or are there just badgers?"

Jessica was upstairs, snooping through Bill's belongings just for the fun of it. Her maker was out somewhere and hadn't been home for a few days. She was used to it by now though. Suddenly there was this weird noise outside and Jess quickly put everything back in place. With vampire speed, she rushed downstairs and opened up the doors. "What the..?" There was a big blue box out there, and a man that she had never seen before. She tilted her head a little, looking at him curiously. "Who are you?"

the doctor walked straight up to a tree and pressed his ear against it as though it were telling him dirty secrets. he whirled around when he heard a voice, over whirling and missing her by a few feet. he straightened himself out and pulled out his sonic again, scanning her before checking the readouts. "vampire?" he put the sonic back into his jacket pocket and shook his head, shaking his hands around. "no no. not a question. i know. the tree told me. dealt with vampires once, but they weren't really vampires. actually aliens that were the last of their kind. died off, though. sad, really. anyway, chipper feelings! i'm the doctor. and you must be a ginger. why do i always meet gingers? the universe is taunting me! oh ha ha we make everyone else ginger but you, doctor!" he ran his fingers through his hair and huffed, slouching his shoulders a bit before straightening out his bowtie.

She just stood there by the door, still inside of the house, looking at him, feeling rather confused. When he pointed something at her, her fangs extending. She had no idea of what that thing was, and it made her feel threatened. Before she could tell him to get the thing away from her, he pulled it away and looked at it. "vampire?" Jess was about to answer him, but he started talking again. She realized that he wasn't a threat to her, and her fangs were retracted again. She listened to him going on and on, trying to keep up with everything that he was saying. "The Doctor?" she said, leaning to the door frame with her arms crossed, looking at him. "Being ginger isn't as fantastic as you seem to think." she paused and looked over at the blue box. "What's that? And how did it get there?" She couldn't help but to be curious about this strange man and the blue box.

her fangs didn't really cause a significant reaction from him. he'd seen scarier fangs from those aliens. those could have killed you just from a stab. as soon as he finished talking, he looked at her as though she were supposed to speak immediately after he was finished. with every second, he looked more and more imaptient and almost looked as though he was going to be distracted by a pillar on the porch until she spoke. "yes, the doctor. that's my name, don't wear it out. wait, yes. wear it out. it's my name. why wouldn't you wear it out if you were trying to call me? never understood that phrase. humans, you know. no, you don't. you are human. well, in a sense." he blabbed a bit, ultimately getting distracted by the pillar like someone might think. he rested his ear against it and knocked a few times as though it had something to do with everything. "well now, i've never been ginger and i've been around for 900 or so years. funny how that is. you age, but nothing else does." he pulled his ear away and then walked right up to her, staring her in the eye. "TARDIS. time and relative dimension in space. dunno what time means, but the rest is about right."

Jessica was rather confused by what he was saying. How could someone be NAMED the doctor? It just seemed really weird. But on the other hand, what wasn't weird about the world? When she was human, before Bill turned her, she would've never believed everything she had seen the past year. That vampires existed, she knew, but all of the other things that she had seen.. things that she could never even have imagined. "So your name is the doctor? That's.. I don't like it. Why would anyone name their kid 'The Doctor'?" she said with a slight frown. She watched him put his ear to the pillar, knocking on it. This man was really weird. "TARDIS? Okay then." she said, still feeling confused. "So what does it do? And what are you doing here?"

the doctor stared at her as she judged his name and gave her a rather deep frown before fixing his jacket sleeve. "well who would name their kid... what's your name again? ah, no matter. it's ridiculous anyway." he spun on his heel as though he had given the greatest comeback of all time. "it's what they call me, you vampire person you." he stepped forward and petted her cheek before turning away and walking back to his TARDIS. "it gets me from place to place. anywhere. aaaand... i'm not sure why i'm here. she likes to take me places i don't want to go, but... need to." he mumbled the last two words before entering the doors and closing them behind him. it made the loud VWORP VWORP VWORP sound before vanishing slowly. a few moments later, it reappeared with the same VWORP and he popped his head back out. "does that."

"My name is Jessica, and it's not a ridiculous name. Jessica is normal, unlike the doctor." She just stood there, looking at him. When he stepped forward and petted her cheek, she frowned slightly. She didn't know this man, and she really didn't trust him. She watched him enter the big blue box after explaining that it got him from place to place, which sounded really strange, considering it was.. a blue box. Her eyes widened when it slowly vanished and there was nothing left, not a single sign of the box or the doctor. When she was about to close the door, she heard that noise again, and the box was back. The doctor popped his head out, and Jessica raised her eyebrows at him. "How did you-?" She slowly walked closer to him, eyeing the box. "That's so cool!" she smiled brightly, fascinated by the box.

"normal? how is that normal? zeus seems like a normal name to me. ichabod. jesus. jessica is so...odd." he played off like he'd never heard it before just to make himself feel better about 'the doctor', which was, in fact, not even his real name. it was just a title. but it was his name as far as he was concerned. as soon as he returned from the few seconds he was away and had popped his head out, he grinned at her sudden change before looking up at the POLICE BOX on the top of it and then looking back down to her. "let me show you! come in." his head disappeared back into the TARDIS, but the door opened wider as an invitation.

Jessica just ignored his talk about names. How could he think that Ichabod was a normal name, and Jessica was odd? The Doctor seemed like a really strange man, and not from around there. He looked rather normal, but he acted weird. Her smile got even brighter when he told her he'd show her. She was about to step inside, but she couldn't. She needed a proper invitation from him. Frowning, she looked at him. "I need to be invited properly." she said, slightly annoyed with that part of being a vampire. You couldn't just enter a house without a real invitation. And obviously, you couldn't even enter a big blue box either, which just seemed stupid to her.

"bloody vampires. ha! get it that was hilarious without me meaning to be. oh. i'm wonderful. well, come in then!" he waved his hands around, beckoning her. "i want to see what you think. never had a vampire in here before. hopefully she doesn't get irritable and kick you out. she sometimes does that..." he rubbed his hands nervously looking from side to side at the inside of his TARDIS, petting a wall gingerly for a moment just in case.

She raised her eyebrows at his "joke". She didn't really find it that funny. When she invited her, she carefully stepped inside, looking around, her eyes widening. She had no idea of how it worked, but somehow, the inside was way bigger than the outside. She slowly spun around, her eyes wide. She was trying to figure out how it worked, how it was possible. She could hear the sound of his voice, but she wasn't really listening to him. "But.. how? This shouldn't even be possible."

he simply stood there with a smug smile on his face, finally able to stand still and fold his fingers together as she looked around with her mouth open. he calmly looked down and slowly looked back up with her question, the smug smile turning into a more knowledgable one. "ah" he rose his finger and stepped forward. "a vampire. you shouldn't be possible as well and yet here you stand in something else that shouldn't be possible." he folded his hands again and sighed, looking up at his ol' TARDIS. "anything is possible."

Jessica thought about what he said for a moment. She figured he was right, things hadn't always been this way, there had been a time where people thought that vampires didn't exist, that it just wasn't possible. She knew that, she had read about it. But yet, the world was filled with vampires. Although, to her, this wasn't the same. The fact that this thing was way bigger on the inside than on the outside.. it was just.. impossible. "Where are you from.. doctor?" she stopped looking around and focused on him now.
