LAST TIME ON THE VAMPIRE DIARIES...
breif history
Elena's parents died in a car crush just around a year in a half ago over the summer. They were driving her home from a party that she was told not to go to but did anyways. They got in a car crash where they both were killed and she survived. She blames herself for their death and since then she hadn't been the same girl. She didn't go out to parties as much and took on responsibility in taking care of her younger brother.
Her life was normal until she met Stefan Salvatore, then the secrets of reality came spilling out. As did the secrets of her past. Turns out Elena was adopted, and she was never told that. Not only that but there was a whole other world accompanied with vampire, werewolves, and witches. She was also the key to breaking a curse. She was something called a doppleganger. She resembled past ancestors exactly, the doppleganger only came along once in many many years.
The original vampire, named Klaus, also had a side to him. A werewolf side. The key to unleashing that side to become a full hybrid was to do a ritual. In which he would kill the doppleganger. The ritual happened but Elena's best friend who was a witch brought her back to life. Turns out her blood is the key to creating more hybrids, so Klaus needs to make sure Elena stays alive. It is kind of a hard task. After all Elena is just about a death magnet. Right now Elena is trying to learn more about defending herself against vampires.
relationships
Elena has been best friends with Caroline and Bonnie since they were kids. Many things have changed since their innocent human days. Bonnie is now a very powerful witch. Caroline is new vampire still adjusting to that kind of lifestyle. Elena's ex-boyfriend, Matt is aware of the supernatural but has luckily stayed out of it. Tyler is a werewolf.
Then there is Katherine. The doppleganger before Elena. They look exactly alike and people often confuse Katherine as Elena. Which Katherine usually takes to her advantage. The two girls don't get along.
Stefan and Damon Salvatore. The famous Salvatore brothers. Both vampires and both were in love with Katherine in 1864. Now they met Elena and both have fallen in love with her. Not only because of her resemblance to Katherine, but her much more appealing and kinder personality. Elena wouldn't admit it but she too is torn between the two brothers.
Personality & Actions
Elena is a very sweet girl. She is considerate and would do anything to protect her friends. She has a strong loyalty and would never betray someone who trusts her. Her friends mean a lot to her and she would do anything to protect her family. She puts others before herself and is quite selfless. She is also quite intelligent and a quick thinker when it comes to planning. She has a good sense of humor when relaxed and tries to be very accepting of her friends.
But she isn't even near perfect. She has a temper and is very reckless. She holds strong grudges. Once you hurt her or her family she won't ever forgive you for it. She can be very cold and bitchy when she is angry. She does have the capability to manipulate if she wants to. She also hates being lied to. She doesn't trust easily either. She believes trust is earned, that it can't just be given away. Elena can also be very worrisome.
