River Song is somewhat of a mystery. She and the Doctor have encountered each other at numerous points in their timelines, and have shared many adventures. She is an archeologist, which she became in order to find him. She carries a blue-bound diary in the shape of the TARDIS, which she uses to keep track of where they have gone and where they will go. Inside, she says there are 'spoilers'. She deeply loves the Doctor, and will do anything for him, even though at times, he might not truly trust her fully. She is serving time in the Stormcage for a murder, a murder which she says was of the best man she has ever known.
While River enjoys the Doctor's company, she is also saddened by it, as they are going opposite ways through time, and soon, she knows, he will no longer know who she is.
"Oh Doctor. You and your secrets. You'll be the death of me."
(River is being played from the point of Season Five I have seen Season Six, I am just bearing in mind that other people may not have. Spoilers.)
