lawrence gordon was a normal doctor in the busy flow of the world. he just happened to give the wrong person bad news and that person took him, chained him up in a bathroom and accused him of being an uncaring and unfaithful man to his wife. before, he had been set up by the killer of many by placing one of his pen lights at the scene of a crime. he was found to be innocent due to the alibi that he was with someone else at the time of the murder. the detective responsible for gordon's trial became obsessed with trying to prove lawrence was actually the killer. he had cameras set up outside of his home and watched him constantly just to see what he was up to. he also hired a photographer named adam to take pictures while he was out. adam only found that he just wasn't going to work, not that he was killing people. it was interesting that adam and dr lawrence were placed in a room together by the killer. adam knew his face, but gordon didn't know his. dr gordon was told to kill adam in a note he received if he wanted to see his family. adam and lawrence worked together for the most part, occasionally bickering about what to do. lawrence even told adam to fake his death just so he could try and trick the man who put them there. after 8 hours in the room with adam, lawrence recieved a call that his family needed to die because his time was up. he heard shooting on the other end, causing him to have a complete panic attack, thinking his wife and daughter were dead. in a frenzy, he did what he knew he had to do hours ago when he was presented with a saw as a tool from the killer to help him escape. the game cards, as it were. go forward two spaces. here's a saw to hack off your own foot, etc. he did just that, getting to his ringing phone. able to get to the gun and bullet, lawrence shot adam after apologizing profusely. he had to save his family. but gordon knew that a shot in the shoulder wouldn't kill him. it, again, was another show. the supposed killer entered the room, furious that his wife and daughter were difficult to kill and got away (though lawrence thought the opposite). 'zep', the one who was there to kill lawrence, pointed his gun at lawrence who was now unable to do much of anything due to blood loss from cutting off his own foot, but adam attacked him with a toilet lid. gordon told adam that he would come back for him, trying to calm him down due to what just happened that day. he left the room, managed to get out the door and someone passing by drove him to the hospital. a day later, lawrence awoke in the hospital bed and cried out to someone to help. he told them where another injured man was and pleaded them to save his friend. he had to have been even though he was hired to take pictures of his lifestyle before. when you're with a person in a situation like that, you can't just forget about them. a nurse told gordon that adam had been saved, but hasn't seen him.
