When Luna thinks of her background, she doesn't much prefer to go to details. After all, at the beginning her life did she feel had it already ended thanks to one event.
Luna was little, but still could remember each and every second of it. She was raised, by her two Lovegood parents. She loved her dad, and more importantly has she loved her Mother as well. They were all maybe not the most ordinary family there could be, but Luna knew well that she loved them no more less, if they ever were. Her Father, wrote for the Quibble while her Mother an experimenter of spells, they all lived harmoniously and wonderful together.
That is, in till Luna was around nine and something incredibly tragic happened to her Mum.
While experimenting with a spell one day, Luna's Mother had an tragic accident which led soonly to her death. Though Luna was a child, it still effected her dearly and to comprehend with this situation it took a while at the time being to get over it for she was indubitably sad. She knew there wasn't a thing she couldn't do to escape somehow of her Mother's tradgey, and with her cheerfulness she attempted to lead on her normal life without her depressed manners always cheering herself, that she'd see her Mother again maybe in the afterlife.
She had high hopes for this dream to come true one day, and even if some can call it a cute child's dream, Luna took it very much serious and still keeps on to this day does she say to herself that without a doubt, she will see her again. To cope with these kind of sceneries were very much uneasy for Luna, but her death was not silenced for the newly seen Threstals around helped her manage to comfort her feelings.
After that not too many other things effected Luna, extreme like that passing her death. She was led to live with her Father now only being raised by him and she they both never had quarrells, so they both lived lovely after that. It's a sad thought really, about her Mother that is brought up in the house sometimes, but all in all it wasn't like they were uncomfortable talking about it; they still both are coping the deal together and the two of them will always say as long as they have each other then nothing, shall bring them down.
And finally later in the years after being enrolled in Hogwarts, the dreamy girl stood outside the crowds for a while. For a few years, she seemed to live in her own world but whoever decided to come into her world usually humiliated her, or bullied her in some way. She didn't mind this however, but this is probably the same reason why she got picked on all the time. Not much bothered her, and whether or not she knew why she was being picked on could be a question not easy to answer. After all, her creatures, the way she talked, it's who she was and perhaps she was to naive to understand that some people didn't like that. Either way, it was nice to be entertaining for people. And perhaps the laughing at, or well in her eyes: to her only meant that she was keeping them content even more.
