welcome to cracked in paradox
there are three types of threads. open, closed, and reserved with a name. open is you are allowing anyone to join in your thread (there can be more than one if you desire). closed is a previously open thread that has been taken and the original poster doesn't want any more folks clogging it. reserved is meant for a certain character. examples: asgard - tag; loki. the grid - open. pride rock - closed. you get the picture. [/ul]okay, i know you're looking at this like omg wtf look at all of these rules! irk? but they're a bit different than what you're used to. reading these rules is like... the longest thing on here, i swear. the rest of the site is fucking easy as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. this and the app is initiation to see if you are worthy. dude, be worthy. come on now. now, we're not like the others out there, but you guys know the basic rules of roleplaying and general life. don't be a dick, don't stretch the boards with images (500 x 450 is max-ish for sigs and 150 x 200 for icons), no god modding, no mary sues or gary sues (this includes "too fucked up" where their life is totally horrible and they're all whores. it happens too much. stop it) unless you're a canon character that is already like that, etc. now these are the specifics:
001. when registering, just use first and last names in lowercase. no need for middle names. i know it looks really pretty, but most canon characters don't really have middle names or we have no effin' idea what the hell they are and i'm not about to make you come up with one off the top of your head for no reason. dudes, we all know it's jack skellington. he doesn't need to be jack monroe skellington. amirite?
002. this site is rated pg-13. swearing, violence, mild lovin occur. have you seen pg-13 movies? there is sometimes a butt and most of the time people are covered up and just making out while rolling around on a bed. lol like that's how sex is. but that's how hardcore it'll get around here unless you fade to black. if you really want to get some sexual lovin (which i know you do cause so do I), just go to the cbox site and register for one and all of your sexytimes will be had. or instant messenger if you have their aim or msn etc etc. sorry ya can't sex each other up in the open. i wish ya could.
003. there's no animals here unless they're a cartoon character like bugs bunny. they are actually able to talk to people. we're not going to roleplay horses and cats unless they are like... a were-horse or were-cat. seriously, only cartoon characters or maybe fairy tale creatures. nemo, flounder, the mice from cinderella, the big bad wolf, asland, po from kung fu panda etc. we just don't want random original animals that only talk with each other because they're psychic or whatever. not sure what that fandom does, but we don't do that here, sorry.
004. your characters aren't limited to their own world. they can go from movie to tv show to game if they felt like it. everything is merged here so if you ever wanted frodo baggins to grab a gun and do some call of duty action, do it! christ, no one is stopping you!
005. this is a dialogue based roleplay. meaning it's like those mini rps you see or rapid fire. they're short and sweet and not filled with too much fluff. it gets the plots you think up actually played out. but, hey, if you really want to write 1000 words, you really can. that's entirely up to you, but this isn't going to be the site where we tell you to try and match the post above you. if you post 1000 words and the person you're posting with posts 200, don't get pissy. that was entirely on you that you posted so much. now what you can do is enjoy writing and the pretty posts you make if you do like to make it filled with descriptions. give yourself a pat on the back instead of slapping someone else in the face for not being as amazing as you in length of posting.
006. you can have as many characters as you want. the possibilities are endless and it's easier to throw up 8 characters when you don't have to feel like it's a hassle to post.
007a. instead of pretty lyrics for a title, it would be more descriptive. the time, who it's for, setting, etc. the description underneath the subject line only has 50 characters and there's no way around that so try to keep the description to who it's for.
008. now we're being nice not having you write a novel, but you should try to make your posts look decently pretty. use blockquote tags at least. there are really awesome premade codes on caution and a thousand fireflies. we allow ubbc codes so pretty tables and all that jazz are accepted here (see the application for the benefits of that. pretty, right?). we will also have some graphic makers out there able to help you make signatures and icons so everything looks put together. not just your posts.
009. it's all up to you where you place your threads. if you want to place a thread that revolves around the movie alien in the sci-fi section or a hitchcock movie in the horror section, that's entirely up to you. just don't put disney in real life or horror. just make it add up at least a little bit. i know that there are books, shows, movies, games... they all kind of blend together because there have been movies made off of games and tv shows made off of books and so on. it's still up to you where ya put them.
please have fun, okay? just do that.
